Columbia Valley Pinot Noir
2015-2017

Tasting Notes:

The 2015 Keystone Pinot Noir is comprised of fruit grown at Keystone Ranch. Most of the Pinot came from two blocks along ancient Entiat River riverbed. A small percentage from a new hillside vineyard (“Mirador”) was added as well. The Keystone fruit is made up of Pinot Noir Dijon clones; among them, Pommard, 117, 118 and 777. The 2015 Pinot is true in color, tending toward bright red hues. The tannins are soft, allowing the characteristic che1Ty and strawberry flavors to shine. Feedback has focused on food pairings of rich fish, such as salmon, and light meat, such as pork tenderloin.

Cabernet Sauvignon
2015-2017

Tasting Notes:

The 2015 Keystone Cabernet Sauvignon was made with 95% Keystone Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and an additional 5% of Malbac. The vines were planted in 2010 and are now mature. The vineyard was placed on a hillside overlooking the Entiat River. The color is dark purple and the wine was aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. It has a soft but firm mouth feel and is now ready to drink. We think it will go very well with meat dishes, pasta or your favorite bar-b-que.

Estate Chardonnay
2017-2019

Tasting Notes:

The 2017 Keystone Chardonnay is an unfiltered estate wine grown in the rocky soil of the Entiat River Valley. The aroma is almost vanilla, and while it smells wonderfully sweet, it was fermented to zero Brix so there is no residual sugar and it is a dry wine. The secret to the delicious taste and the viscosity is in the yeast we use from France. Citrus notes are clearly evident and some folks taste lychee. We have only 14 cases remaining in the winery as it is very popular. The 2018 Chardonnay was just bottled last month and will be available mid-summer.

Rose Wine
2018-2019

Tasting Notes:

In 2018 we decided to make a rose summer wine with some of our Pinot Noir grapes. The grapes were crushed and then left to “sit on the lees” for 24 hours. (Normally rose wines rest on the lees for 12-24 hours, the longer they rest the more intense the color and flavor.) When we came back the next day the wine was a beautiful pink raspberry color. This is a mouthful of flavor rose that will be perfect for a summer picnic.

Wildfire (Red Blend)
2014

Tasting Notes:

In 2014 we had huge wildfires in the Entiat Valley. Hundreds of firefighters from all over the Western United States converged on our property to stop the fire. Over 50,000 acres were burned and the heroic firefighters fought hard for weeks, saving our buildings. Sadly many orchard trees were burned and some grape vines were singed. Smoke hung in the air for a week. We saved the grapes but you will taste a bit of the smoke we had in this unique vintage. Actually some folks really like it. We have had tourists who are scotch drinkers say it is the best red wine they have ever had.

Epi’s Blend
2019

Tasting Notes:

Columbia Valley. 50% Riesling, 32% Pinot Gris, 18% Gewürztraminer.

Keystone Ranch was planted in 1889 on the banks of the Entiat River, just a stones throw from the mighty Columbia. Native Americans camped, gathered berries and hunted here each fall. Pioneers planted 125 acres of apples, pears, and cherry trees and sold them under the Keystone Fruit Company label for decades. Now a new generation has planted wine grapes in this unique terroir. Epi’s Blend is a special blend that was created by our vineyard manager and cellar master Epi Ayala. Enjoy!
